Hello to all! I know that I have posted practically nothing on this account, but that is because it is solely devoted to art for my book. And while I am frantically finishing my very last draft so that it can get published and actually be more than just a little dream of mine, I have had very little time to get stuff on here. (Though I actually did do about a dozen more pastels, but I haven’t got a scanner large enough to get them on the computer and haven’t had the time to figure out an alternative.

Anyways, if you want to know more about who/what/why I am how I am, check out my previous entry. This particular one is in response to a little questionnaire I received from another writer. The directions are as follows:

1.) Pick three original characters (I’m actually going to do four XD, because my book has four primary characters and I couldn’t leave one off!)

OC Characters Chosen: [NOTE: I have recently changed the spellings of my characters names. These are completely updated and I SWEAR that it shall be the last time I move anything around!]

Jazmyn Sarasella Saphirin (Main phoenix-sorceress. She narrates the story)
Ralin Kenrich Serin (Jazmyn’s, for lack of a better phrase that would not need 30 pages of explaining, husband)
Izabella Aarizella Gardinè (The princess of the Catarunin and empress of Tassin) [REVERSE PREVIOUS NOTE: this particular name may still be subject to change]
Sikin ev ew Lumilyn de Lúrino (his name goes on forever, but that’s the short version. He is Izabella’s “husband.”


Boy or girl?

Jazmyn: Isn’t it obvious that I’m a girl? Only a female would have the capacity to cause as many problems as I do.

Ralin: Boy, yes. Man, no (and the fact that I’m not really human is beside the point). It’s more than plain that Jazmyn has more stamina than I. I mean, trekking across a continent with no complaint just to save the love of her life? (Not that I wouldn’t do the same for her, of course, but she really does outrank me in manliness.

Izabella: I am a sorceress of the Cats, only a female could be a great as I. Naturally, I started as a girl, but you may only call me a woman now.

Sikin: Ennn….I am a boy if one must ask. Is my long hair really enough to deceive all Americans?


How old are you?

Jazmyn: I was forced into Scoria on the eve of my seventeenth birthday. Though the magic of my person makes my soul feel so much older.

Ralin: Jaz and I were born on the same day and our adventures start on the morning of our seventeenth birthday. I know, I know, we must seem very young to you, but in sorcerer culture we are of age at seventeen and are mentally and physically beyond most humans our age. So we are really, like, almost thirty by your standards.

Izabella: I came of age two moons before the arrival of Sujnoimi and Kuparo [Jazmyn and Ralin].

Sikin: The next winter brings with it my eighteenth year.


What do you think your life expectancy is?

Jazmyn: I don’t foresee myself living through the war with Ladwyna.

Ralin: I dunno…a long time though, I hope. Our people are immortal, though it is said that sorcerers tend to get bored with life after their first millennium and kill themselves in the hopes that their next life will be more interesting. I don’t plan to do that, I just wanna live here in Scoria with Jaz and fight in the wars as they come up (they’re always around, and I don’t see how one could get bored of them).

Izabella: I do not know, and it matters little to me, so long as I fulfill my duty to my people and kill the last of the Dragien before I myself parish.

Sikin: I was taught that it is best not to brood on such thoughts. The mind is a powerful instrument and I do my best to not interfere with fate.


What's your height?

Jazmyn: Oh…I’m not incredibly tall. Five-foot-five or six, I think…though I haven’t been measured since before my magic purge, so I might be taller.

Ralin: I was an inch short of six feet before my purge, then a grew a couple inches that night, so I’m probably about six one or so now, could be taller [grins].

Izabella: I am small in stature, as all the women of my race, all the better for swiftness in battle. I do not know these “feet” you speak of, but I am half a head shorter than my quartet sister [Jazmyn].

Sikin: I no not either of the measurements of the Tanum, but I am quite tall, taller than Kuparo [Ralin].


What is your job?

Jazmyn: To train to defeat the dark witch Ladwyna. Isn’t that just lovely? I don’t even get a choice in the matter…

Ralin: To be a much needed savoir of society and end the dark age by battling the devil’s servant. Pretty neat, huh?

Izabella: I am the next in line to the throne of Tassin. Until that time, my only mission is to fulfill the prophesy of old and destroy the last remnants of the fire people.

Sikin: I must work in secrecy, to discuss it will only create difficulties for myself and my allies.


What is your favorite colour?

Jazmyn: Sapphire blue, my power/birthstone.

Ralin: The same as Jazmyn, that brilliant jewel blue.

Izabella: Crimson, the color of blood as it glistens, still wet, on my knife.

Sikin: Every variety of green and brown, the colors of the landscape of my homeland.


What's your favorite food?

Jazmyn: Oh gosh, that’s hard…I have to say just about anything salty and/or spicy. I really loved all food Asian when I was still living in the states.

Ralin: I love any vegetable sautéed in butter. I know, vegetables, a little odd, but really. Oh, and pasta too. Spicy is good as well.

Izabella: Anything my court prepares. Food prepared by anyone else is dubbed fowl. I am particularly fond of meat that I have captured myself, though it is against the tradition of the Vuia to consume the flesh of any sentient being. The Catarunin have no master.

Sikin: Veyka, an elvin flatbread. It is sweet, filling, and does not spoil. Excellent for long journeys.


What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

Jazmyn: Ahaha! By the stone, it’s been forever since I’ve heard that word. Ice cream…ice cream…oooh, I have to say anything with chocolate in it!

Ralin: hmmm…robably cookie dough.

Izabella: Iced cream? I believed that I tortured cruelly, but that is an idea I never before thought of…freezing Jeggies [cows]...humans truly are creative.

Sikin: There are so many strange things of your world still unknown to me.


Have you killed anyone?

Jazmyn: No…not yet. Though if Sorin continues forcing me to do things that I have no desire to do, I might make him my first assassination.

Ralin: No, and I haven’t really any desire to, though I know I will probably have to in the future.

Izabella: It is my duty to destroy any person disloyal to the throne…I have disposed of many…

Sikin: Seven, in battle. It was not my wish, but my duty.


Do you hate anyone?

Jazmyn: I don’t want to talk about it, I hate too much.

Ralin: Hate is a wasted emotion. It takes too much energy and only destroys the person feeling it. I steer away from it, though there are plenty of people I dislike.

Izabella: I have few strong inclinations of the heart.

Sikin: Judge? Yes. Hate? No.


Have any secrets?

Jazmyn: I am scared of myself and what I may one day become, but the people who matter know that so it isn’t much of a secret. That’s all I can think of.

Ralin: No, not really. I don’t keep anything from Jazmyn.

Izabella: Yes.

Sikin: I do, but I can say no more than that.


Do you love anyone?

Jazmyn: Of course I do. My love for Ralin drives me to do almost all that I do.

Ralin: I would not be me without Jazmyn. If she ceased to exist I would die of pain before I would have the chance to kill myself.

Izabella: I…[*face hardens*] It is impossible for our kind to know what true love is. With the Jiap Lukhmik curse—the curse our kind suffers that forces our souls to be bound to another, to love another—I cannot love anyone. I will not fall to that illusion.

Sikin: Yes, I do. The curse means nothing to me.


What do you do to relax?

Jazmyn: I read.

Ralin: I like to research. Discover new things about our new world.

Izabella: I never relax, and if I did I would never tell a commoner.

Sikin: …I enjoy flying…
